When Nissan named their full-size pickup truck “Titan,” they announced to the market that it can provide truly legendary performance and power. When you get behind the wheel, you’ll know that it delivers. This capable work truck offers herculean strength for any hauling or towing job thanks to its hearty engine and masterful engineering. Despite its muscular powertrain and imposing frame, the Titan is surprisingly compliant on city streets and highways. Its work-ready yet comfortable interior provides plenty of space for you and your crew, and modern technology features will make every ride both safe and entertaining.
If you would like to jump in the driver’s seat to see what the Titan can do, come check it out at Katy Nissan. Our team of Nissan experts can show you this capable truck from hood to tailgate, and we can also hand you the keys so that you can experience its power with a test drive.
For 2019, Nissan has enhanced the Titan’s onboard technology with new infotainment features. Standard equipment includes an expanded touchscreen that now allows access to satellite radio as well as smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
The Titan lives up to its name with impressive strength and reliable performance. The base model runs on a 390-horshepower 5.6-liter V8 that delivers 394 pound-feet of torque. Nissan also offers an available 310-horsepower 5.0-liter turbodiesel V8 that puts out a muscular 555 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission comes standard, while a six-speed automatic is available with the diesel. The standard Titan can tow 9,660 pounds and haul 1,930 pounds. When optimized for work, the diesel-powered Titan XD can pull 12,830 pounds and haul 2,990 pounds. The truck maintains a smooth, turbulence-free ride on the pavement, and it can tackle rugged terrain with available off-roading features like Bilstein shocks, hill descent control, a locking rear differential, and skid plates.
Seating capacity depends on which Titan cab style you want, with space for three people in the Single Cab and seats for six in the Crew Cab and King Cab. Adults will find plenty of legroom, especially in the airy Crew Cab, while two-row models also come with two full sets of LATCH car seat connections. The base model’s utilitarian interior can hold up to whatever elements you track in, and you can also explore the trim range to add comfort and style upgrades throughout. Available cabin features include leather upholstery, heated seating in both rows, a heated steering wheel, cooled front seats, and power-adjustable front seats.
The Titan can be equipped with a variety of convenient infotainment features like navigation, a rear-seat DVD player, Sir Eyes Free, HD Radio, and a Fender sound system. Available safety systems include rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and more. The truck also scored reassuringly well on its safety tests.
When Nissan introduced the Titan into the U.S. pickup market in 2003, they new they were entering an infamously competitive field. Their full-size truck rose to the challenge, however, and American drivers quickly grew to respect the well-rounded work truck. The Titan enjoyed a warm reception and brisk sales thanks to its appealing combination of serious performance and refreshingly comfortable ride. To stay ahead of the pack, Nissan has updated the truck each year following the release, starting with fresh trim and exterior options in its second year.
The Titan received an exterior and interior refresh in 2008, and Nissan was among the first makers to install MP3 connectivity in their models. The Titan spent 2016 on hiatus, but returned in 2017 with a complete redesign. For the next generation, Nissan enhanced the Titan’s worksite capability as well as its looks and cabin comfort. A variety of packages has been added to the Titan’s available options in recent years, including the adventure-ready Off-Road package and the subtly sinister Midnight Edition with blacked-out design accents.
When you’re headed to the worksite, it pays to show up in a truck that can do it all.
